Quality Control & Methodology

Our quality control system aims to select the most appropriate translation team to your project and process the document with rigorous checks before it is delivered. We keep the number of translators working on a particular project down to a minimum but we will always have a second in-country translator to proof-read the document. Our approach of combining technical expertise with target market translators greatly facilitates all aspects of the translation process. Once a team has worked together successfully for a client we will keep the same personnel assigned to that client and with every new translation they will develop a specific glossary and use this as a reference material in the future.

We also provide after-care service to guarantee that our service does not end at the delivery stage. We actively approach clients for feedback on all our work. This helps us to continually improve our quality standards and satisfy the needs of our clients. Whether you have a question about our translation, a need for an additional service such as proof-reading or certification, our project managers are always available to assist you no matter how long ago we completed the project.

Reference documents
Our Production Department maintains translation memory databases and specialised glossaries for many of our clients. Translations are fed into these reference bases so as to leverage future translations against our existing corpus, helping to ensure improved quality.

We strictly observe the Code of Professional Conduct as recommended by the Institute of Translation and Interpreting as well as the Institute of Linguists. We also follow the Guidelines for Good Practice recommended by the two professional bodies.

Dictionaries
Language Experts has access to a wealth of software and printed dictionaries as well as an up-to-date glossary of technical terms which ensure that our translators keep pace with innovation to select correct and consistent terminology during the translation process.

Translation Memory (TM)
During a translation, translation memory takes every sentence and phrase translated and stores it in a bilingual database. For every subsequent reoccurrence of a particular sentence, or in most cases, a sentence fragment, the translator is automatically provided with the translation stored in memory. The translator then chooses whether to accept this translation if it is a 100% match or edit it in such a way that renders it acceptable. These tools dramatically improve on the quality and consistencies of the translation.
