Interpretation
Language Experts Interpreting Service
Language Experts provides
professional interpreters for a range of sectors. There are three main types of
interpreting relating to the circumstances of the situation concerned. The
followings explains the terminology applied to these different forms of
interpreting.
Simultaneous Interpreting
Interpreters translate simultaneously, either using
simultaneous interpreting equipment, e.g. in a conference or they whisper the
translation directly to the listener.
Consecutive Interpreting
Interpreter translates after the speaker has finished speaking. This method is
often used at events such as court hearings, business meetings and international
conferences.
Ad-hoc Interpreting
Interpreter translates at his/her discretion, used for
informal meetings or social functions, for example in exhibitions or training
programmes.
Language Experts' interpreting
service covers many world languages and dialects from and into English. We can
also offer interpreters for non-English language combinations in major European
languages. Core industry areas for use of our interpreting services are:
Legal (courts, prisons, solicitor firms)
Medical (NHS, medical appointments)
Business (international conferences, focus groups, business meetings)
Industry Accreditation
All of our interpreters have industry recognition and appropriate certification
for their interpreting specialisation. The recognised bodies in the industry are
the Institute of Linguists, the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and
the National Register for Public Service Interpreters. All the interpreters
assigned to attend Court hearings are registered on the latter body and have
extensive experience within this environment.
We require that all of our interpreters hold a minimum of an undergraduate
degree in interpreting or linguistics and at least 2 years experience of
interpreting within their specialist industry field.
